If there were a “Busy Badge”, would you be wearing it?

Being “Crazy” busy will make you….well…crazy. Yet, we all spend inordinate amounts of time bragging about how busy we are in a sense. If you’re not bragging about it, you’re likely talking about it or telling others or complaining about being tired. All of that is okay, but what if… just what if… your focus was on something say more helpful? Read the rest of this entry »

Wouldn’t it be nice if difficulty in your work and life were only in your rear view mirror?

If you were on Facebook last week you may have seen the talk about Make Difficult People Disappear and the fact that the first off the press copy arrived in my office last week! When I took a look at the contents a surprising and unintended theme appeared that I hadn’t seen before. Is Confidence Really Contagious?

Monica Wofford, CSP, teaches leaders to understand and improve their own leadership in using practice, skills, and desire as their three areas of focus.

What are you good at and are you confident enough to share it and claim it publicly? Remember: Confidence is Contagious!

The short answer here is YOU BET! But don’t believe it just because I said so. Try your own experiment. Have you ever had a bad day? Hehe! Sure you have and how did others treat you when you had a bad day? Did you find they were eager to be around you or ran the other direction? Did that bad day come from a lack of confidence in some area or another – likely so. What about when you had a great day? As a leader, if you walk in the office feeling invincible, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and able to take everyone in your path with you to success, don’t they pick up on that? Sure they do and yes, some may ask you what caffeinated drink you had for breakfast, but for the most part, the ones who are also confident, will pick up on your unstoppable beliefs and energy and join you for the journey enthusiastically. Want to be an even more effective Contagious Leader, find a way to maintain that sense of internal belief in yourself, your gifts, values, and talents, and your own Contagious Confidence. What are a few of your favorite things?

In honor of the much celebrated American holiday of Thanksgiving, I thought we might do something a bit different. This is a time of year when many reflect on where they’ve been, what they’ve done and where they’d like to go next year. Even if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, this still seems to occur with the oncoming “reset” of a new year.

Are you taking this time to reflect? Are you reveling in the gratitude of what you’ve accomplished or managed to get through or overcome? Perhaps now is the time to merely take an inventory of those things for which you are most grateful. What are a few of your favorite things that you’ve been a part of, connected to, created, or shared? Read the rest of this entry »
