Don’t be an April Fool!
Things are moving so fast and we’re all so busy, but sometimes you just need a break.
One solution? You could take a day off.
Better solution? You could take a day to develop new skills to help you manage this level of activity and stress
The Contagious Conference Training Course on How to Deal with Difficult People will provide you with those skills AND time to practice, ask questions, and apply them to your own life and work. This is the real deal and we get to Read the rest of this entry »
Fall, Fourth Quarter, Football and other F words.
Now come on… it’s not what you’re thinking, but if you laughed or inserted your own commentary beginning with F, that might be some foreshadowing about the upcoming season. The typical fall season is where we fall back (in most states) on our clocks, prepare for anticipated fourth quarter sales and traffic, and try to work in all those fun activities with friends, families, tail gate party goers, and fellow holiday shoppers. See there, fun, fellow, friends, and family…all f words. However, how we handle this season almost always predicts how we will feel in the early part of 2012.
This is not the time to give up on goals until the year resets in January. This is not the time to coast or usually sit back and relax and just watch all the action. This is the time when we gear up, get ready, and go for it. Okay, so those are g words, but how many of them are you putting into place? Read the rest of this entry »
The Legal Profession Becomes Contagious!!
Wow, now that’s an opening line! While it’s no surprise that the legal industry is bound by the same reality that everything those working in it do, say, think, believe, and behave IS contagious, this note is a bit more special. The upcoming Association of Legal Administrators Annual Conference & Exposition has given us the honor and privilege of sharing not one, but a DOUBLE dose of Contagious Concepts in their upcoming conference! Yay!
At this amazing event, we will cover both Contagious Confidence™ and Contagious Culture™ back to back. Now that IS a double dose and here is a sneak preview: Read the rest of this entry »
Wishing You Had IT…is NOT The Same as Having Confidence

What do you wish you had, but perhaps already do.. its all about your contagious confidence beliefs… not your wishes.
This cartoon made me laugh out loud and then it made me think. Do you remember the Wizard of Oz and the wishes of the Tin Man, The Lion, the Scarecrow and Dorothy? Do you remember how deeply they wished they had a brain, a heart, and courage and could get home and how nothing seemed to work to get them those things until they finally believed they already had them? Hmmm…
What you wish for and wish you had is often phrased in your mind as something you DON’T currently have and wish you could get. Let’s take confidence for example, contagious confidence in fact. If you wish you had contagious confidence it is usually at a time when you find you’re lacking in some way and you are focused on how much of it you don’t think you have, but wish you did. That will get you more of what you don’t want in a hurry. And whether you think you have it or think you don’t, both are still contagious.

3 Ways to Manage the Tasks Instead of Your Time
Podcast: Download (Duration: 4:35 — 4.2MB)
The concept of a Time Management course has always seemed redundant to me. Aren’t watches and clocks used for time management? And isn’t it really much more about what you do with that time that makes the difference? If so, then how do you manage the tasks that go in your time to make sure you are doing with your time those items that are most valuable to you? Wow, that was a mouthful, but here are three specific tips and techniques.
1. Separate the Urgent from the Important
Not everything is a fire drill or top priority and if you can quit expecting yourself to get it ALL done and relax a little, you might find that you gain more energy, more clarity and more focus. Identify, using the old Franklin Covey concept of urgent vs. Important, those times that are “on fire” and need you now and those items that are important that need you more when the flames are doused.
2. Make a priority list as if it were a tournament
I learned from Kevin McCarthy, the author of the On Purpose Person to run what are called tournaments. You literally Read the rest of this entry »

Why Are We So Tired?
Podcast: Download (Duration: 3:20 — 3.1MB)
Have you ever said you’re just sick and tired of something? Be careful, your brain is listening. In fact, it listens to whatever you say without question. If you say “I’m tired”, well, then it says “okay” and helps you feel more tired.
Much like our thoughts and behaviors are contagious in that they spread to others, they also impact your own energy level. If you really are tired, then maybe some more sleep is in order, but chances are your fatigue is just as much mental as physical. In fact, one source of fatigue is inauthenticity, or said another way – “fakin’ it til you make it”. Take the time to Read the rest of this entry »
